Instagram comment automation
Instagram comment automation:
reply to every keyword comment with a DM.
When a Reel gets hundreds of comments asking for the link, replying by hand is slow. Comment automation watches for your keyword and sends each commenter a private reply with what they asked for.

How comment automation works
- Pick the post or Reel and the keyword (for example LINK).
- Someone comments the keyword.
- ReplyKaro sends them your DM as a private reply.
- Comments above your hourly limit are queued and sent as capacity allows, inside the 7-day window.
Automation is not the same as buying comments
Searching for "free Instagram comments" often leads to comment panels that post fake comments. ReplyKaro does not sell or post comments. It replies to real comments from real people. Fake comments can hurt your account's standing and do not create conversations.
Auto comment on Instagram: what ReplyKaro does and does not do
"Auto comment" can mean two things. Tools that post comments on other people's content automatically are spam and break Instagram's rules; ReplyKaro does not do that. What ReplyKaro automates is the reply to comments you receive: when someone comments your keyword, they get a DM, and the free plan covers this.
Choosing keywords that work
- Use one short word people can type easily: LINK, PRICE, GUIDE.
- Say the keyword out loud and show it on screen in the Reel.
- Add misspellings and local-language variations as extra keywords.
- Use different keywords on different posts so you can see which content brings leads.
What can trigger a DM
| Trigger | What happens | Good to know |
|---|---|---|
| Comment keyword on a post or Reel | The commenter gets a private reply (DM) with your link, file or question. | Instagram allows one private reply per comment, within 7 days. |
| Story reply | A DM answers the reply. | Story automation starts on the Starter plan. |
| Story mention | A thank-you or offer is sent to the person who tagged you. | Story automation starts on the Starter plan. |
| Incoming DM | A keyword or flow answers the message. | Instagram's 24-hour messaging window applies after their message. |
How sending limits work
Instagram caps how many private replies an app can send each hour. ReplyKaro sends below that cap by default: 180 DMs an hour on the Free plan, 200 on Starter and up to 300 on Pro. If a Reel goes viral and comments arrive faster than that, they are queued and sent as capacity allows, as long as they are inside Instagram's 7-day window.

Rules every tool has to follow
These come from Meta's developer documentation and apply to all Instagram DM tools, including ReplyKaro.
- A comment can receive one private reply, sent within 7 days of the comment.
- Your account must be an Instagram Professional account (Business or Creator).
- After the person replies, the standard 24-hour messaging window applies.
- Meta caps private replies per hour. A good tool sends within that cap and queues the rest instead of failing.
- Tools that ask for your Instagram password, or run through a browser extension, are outside Meta's rules.
How ReplyKaro keeps your account within Meta's rules
- It connects with Instagram's official login. It never asks for your password and does not use bots or browser extensions.
- It only messages people who commented a keyword, replied to your Story, mentioned you or messaged you.
- It sends below Meta's hourly cap and queues the rest.
- You can pause any automation, and take over any chat yourself.
- No tool can guarantee an account will never be restricted. Keep messages relevant and avoid repeating identical text to large audiences.
ReplyKaro is not affiliated with or endorsed by Meta or Instagram.
Comment keyword ideas by type of content
| Content | Keyword | What the DM delivers |
|---|---|---|
| Tutorial Reel | GUIDE | A written guide, checklist or template |
| Product showcase | SHOP | Product link and a discount code |
| Workout or recipe | PLAN | A PDF plan or meal list |
| Service promotion | BOOK | Your booking page |
| Giveaway | ENTER | Entry rules and a follow step |
| Event or launch | JOIN | Registration link and date |
How to ask for the comment in a Reel
- Say the keyword out loud and show it on screen in the last few seconds.
- Put the same instruction in the caption: "Comment GUIDE and I will send it."
- Tell people what they will get, not just what to type.
- Pin a comment that repeats the instruction.
- Use one keyword per Reel so you know what each comment means.
Comment replies and DMs are different things
The DM is the private reply to the commenter. A public reply under the comment is separate, and you can still write one by hand. Using the DM for the link keeps long links and attachments out of your comment section.
Instagram allows one private reply per comment. If someone comments twice, the second comment cannot receive another private reply.
A complete comment-to-DM funnel, step by step
| Step | What you do | What the viewer sees |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Make the post | Record a Reel that teaches or shows something useful, and name the keyword in the video and the caption | A clear promise: "Comment GUIDE and I will send it" |
| 2. Set the automation | Choose the post, add the keyword, write the DM and optionally turn on Follow-Gate | Nothing yet |
| 3. Viewer comments | ReplyKaro receives the comment event from Instagram | Their comment appears publicly |
| 4. DM is sent | A private reply goes out with your link or file | A message from your account in their inbox or requests |
| 5. They reply or tap | They answer your question or open the link | A short conversation, which you can take over |
| 6. You review | Check the dashboard for DMs sent, replies and leads | N/A |
Handling spam, repeat comments and unrelated replies
- A person who comments the keyword twice can receive only one private reply for each comment, and Instagram allows one private reply per comment.
- Comments that do not contain your keyword do not trigger the DM, so you can keep chatting with your audience as normal.
- Use a specific keyword. If your keyword is a common word, expect unrelated triggers.
- Public replies to comments are separate from DMs. You can write them by hand, and keep the link itself in the DM.
Example setups by niche
| Niche | Keyword | First DM idea |
|---|---|---|
| Fitness coach | PLAN | Send the workout PDF and ask about their goal |
| Recipe creator | RECIPE | Send the full recipe page and ask what they cooked |
| Photographer | PRESETS | Send the preset pack link and ask which style they like |
| Financial educator | SHEET | Send the budget template and ask what they want to track |
| Fashion store | LINK | Send the product page and ask for their size |
| Language teacher | FREE | Send the free lesson link and ask their level |
These are examples of how others commonly use keywords, not results you should expect. Test on one post first.
What to review after a post goes live
- How many comments contained the keyword, and how many DMs were sent. A big gap suggests typos or spacing variants.
- How many people replied. Low replies suggest the first message does not invite an answer.
- How many leads you collected, if you ask for an email or phone number.
- Which posts produced the most interest, so you can make more like them.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Does ReplyKaro reply publicly to comments?
ReplyKaro's main action is a private reply (DM) to the commenter. Public reply options depend on your automation settings.
What happens if my Reel goes viral?
Comments are queued above your hourly limit and sent as capacity allows, as long as they are inside Instagram's 7-day window. Higher plans have higher hourly limits.
Is ReplyKaro safe for my Instagram account?
ReplyKaro uses Instagram's official API with Instagram login, never asks for your password and sends below Meta's hourly cap. It only messages people who interacted with you. No tool can guarantee an account will never be restricted, so keep messages relevant.
How much does ReplyKaro cost?
There is a free plan (1 Instagram account, 3 active automations and 1,000 DMs a month). Paid plans start at ₹99 a month in India or $3 a month elsewhere, and Pro (₹299 (India) or $9 a month with unlimited automations and DMs) removes automation and DM caps. See the pricing page for every plan.
Do I need an Instagram Professional account?
Yes. Instagram only allows automation tools to message through Business or Creator accounts. Switching is free in Instagram settings.
Does the commenter have to follow me to get the DM?
No, unless you turn on Follow-Gate. With Follow-Gate on, the person is asked to follow before the link is sent.
Can I use different keywords on different posts?
Yes. Each automation is attached to a post or Reel and has its own keywords, so you can see which content brings the most interest.
What if someone comments the keyword in capitals or with spaces?
Add the variants your audience uses as separate keywords so each one triggers the reply.
Does a comment-to-DM automation work on Reels, posts and carousels?
Yes. You choose a post or Reel and set the keyword for it.
Can I reply publicly as well as in the DM?
Yes. A public reply is separate from the DM. You can write public replies yourself, and sending the link in the DM keeps long links and files out of your comment section.
Why did a commenter not receive the DM?
Common reasons are a keyword mismatch, an account that is not Professional, a comment older than 7 days, a second automation on the same post, or reaching your plan's monthly DM limit. See the troubleshooting table above.
Is there a limit on how many comments I can answer?
Meta allows about 750 private replies per hour per account. Your plan also has a monthly DM allowance and an hourly sending limit set below Meta's cap.
